About Us
A boutique under the house.
I was born and raised on Delmas 33, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Underneath the house I grew up in, my grandparents ran a boutique. I lived upstairs from it. I spent my childhood watching them sell to the neighborhood — people coming to the door, being taken care of, the shop and the home being the same place. That was normal to me. That was just how business worked.
I always thought that one day, when I grew up, I'd have a business in my home too, and I'd be able to take care of my community the way they did.
Delmas 33 is that shop. It's just online now.
Same idea, different century — I'm at home, and the door is open to the public. Everything here is chosen the way you'd choose something for a neighbor who came to your door: useful, honestly priced, worth the trip.
The kite
When I was a kid in Haiti, I flew kites. I made them too.
That's what the logo is — the kite, and the oval it flies in. It isn't decoration. It's the part of my childhood I carried with me, and it was the first thing I wanted on the door of my own shop.
What we carry
Herbs and roots from China. Single-estate tea from Taiwan, Nepal, Japan and India. Hibiscus that is sorrel in Haiti, bissap in Senegal, karkade in Egypt.
West African black soap, shea and kpangnan butter, and Haitian castor oil - lwil maskriti. Sourced and shipped inside the United States, every one with the place it comes from written on the page.
Alongside them: our Delmas 33 dotted journals, custom printing, and Spayce Hunii - a partner brand we carry, not a house label. The journals are made with ethically sourced, FSC-certified paper, using only vegan and cruelty-free materials.
Different categories, one shelf. Mine.
Where the money goes
10% of every sale here goes to the Life In Many Colors Foundation, a Colorado 501(c)(3) that supports burn and trauma survivors. Not a campaign, not a one-month promotion - it is how the shop is built.
Survivors, not victims. That is the word the Foundation uses and it is the word we use here.
